Carmen Griffiths from Aboyne, only nine years old, won at Kintore Golf Club today on her debut appearance on the Aberdeenshire girls' golf circuit which began its 2013 schedule with a Stableford competition in bitterly cold conditions which warmed up only in mid-afternoon when the sun came out, belatedly.

Carmen (pictured) totalled 35pt in the Stableford competition and won from Tegan Seivwright (Deeside), 33pt, and Olivia Borwick (McDonald Ellon) with 32.
Incredibly, Carmen had never seen the Kintore course before!
