KELSEY MACDONALD NOW IN SECOND PLACE IN THE SALLY
Kelsey MacDonald maintained her good run of form on the Florida Orange Blossom Tour for amateur women with a repeat of her opening three-under-par 69 in the second round of the South Atlantic Amateur (The Sally) at Oceanside Country Club, Ormond Beach.
Kelsey is now lying second on six-under 138, two shots behind the new leader, American Kelly Schon who also shot a 69 to add to her first-day 67 for a 36-hole tally of eight-under 136
Overnight leader 16-year-old Cindy Feng dropped to a share of 10th place in the field of 92 with a 79, 12 shots more than her first-round score, for 146.
Stirling student Kelsey, a member of Nairn Dunbar GC, had a round of seven birdies - at the first, short fourth, long sixth, short ninth, 15th, short 16th and long 17th in halves of 35 (one under) and 34 (two under).
She bogeyed the second, third, fifth and 13th.
Kelly Shon birdied the sixth, eighth,12th,14th and 15th in halves of 34 and 35. She bogeyed the 10th and 13th.
Demoted leader Cindy Feng had double bogeys at the first, 12th and 16th in halves of 39-40.
Kilmacolm's Eilidh Briggs, maintaining second place within the Stirling University squad, is joint 19th on 149 after a 76 which was not a bad effort after the potentially demoralising effect of running up double bogey 6s at the first and third.
Birdies at the long sixth and seventh helped her reach the turn in two-over 38.
