SALLY WATSON JOINT SECOND IN BIG US COLLEGE EVEN
A Curtis Cup player in 2008 and 2010, Sally Watson, in her fourth and final year at Stanford University, California, finished in a tie for 2nd
on 217 (72-74-71) in the Edean Ihlandfeldt Invitational played at the
6054 yard, par 72 Sahalee CC course in Sammamish, Washington State.

The "Edean Ihlandfeldt" - one of the big early-season women's college tournaments on the West Coast of the States - was Sally's first competition of the 2012-2013 college season for Stanford who now have fellow Scot Anne Walker as their director of women's golf.
"Sally was very impressive. She played smart golf and had five birdies in her final round," said Anne.

(71-73-73) was Charlotte Thomas (Washington), a former Surrey resident
recently based in Singapore.
Both found themselves a massive 12 shots behind the runaway winner Soobin Kim (Washington) on 205 (71-67-67).

Washington did win the team event on 886 (293-293-300), 14 ahead of UC
Davis with Stanford a further 5 back in 3rd, but the
individual winner wasn’t even in the Washington team!
Hampshire’s Raffi Dyer (Oregon) finished down the field in a tie for 50th in a field of 83 players on a score of 241 (84-75-82)

Over in New Mexico, another Hampshire student Georgina Mundy (North Texas) played in the Prices
Give EN Five Intercollegiate at the 6258 yards, Par 72 NMSU Course in
Las Cruces.
The freshman finished on 245 (81-83-81) whch placed her 72nd of the 76 players.
The team event was won by the University of Kansas on 871 (294-289-288), and their player, Yupaporn Kawinpakorn on 213 (69-71-73) won medallist honours.

A strong finish from Yorkshire’s Nikki Dunn (Texas A and M) saw her climb into a tie for 13th
place in a field of 59. Nikki totalled 225 (78-77-70) and her final
round was the lowest of the day.
Teammate Vanessa Johnson won the individual title on 214 (69-72-73) and their efforts helped Texas A and M into 2nd place on 889 (298-296-295), 5 strokes behind the victorious St. Edwards University.

omission from yesterday, also playing in the Guy Harvey event in
Florida was Aimee Paterson (West Florida) a freshman, and yet another
from Hampshire. Aimee scored 172 (89-83) and finished tied 70th in a field of 81.
