SIAN EVANS LEADS THE BRITS IN KENTUCKY'S CARDINAL CUP



Sian Evans (East Tennessee State), pictured above, from Gillingham was the best -placed finisher of the English girls who took part in the recent Cardinal Cup women's college golf tournament at the Cardinal Club, Simpsonville, Kentucky.
Sian had rounds of 75, 77 and 77 over a par-72 course of 6,271yd. Her total of 229 gave her a T31 position in a field of 87 players.
Winner by five shots from Emily Haas (Louisville) with scores of 69, 69 and 71 for seven-under 209.
Melissa Siviter, who has tranferred from Belmont College Abbey to Georgia State University over the summer holidays, finished T39 on 231 with scores of 74, 76 and 81. Melissa hails from Coseley in the West Midlands. 
Maryland freshman Heidi Baek from Suffolk and Wellington College - a former England girl international - scored 77,79 and 82 for T55 on 238. 
No word of the other English girl who was due to enrol at Maryland University in August, Jessica Gregory from Sittingbourne. She did not play in this event. 

JESSICA 13th in FRED MARX INVITATIONAL

Germany-born Jessica Schiele from Grimsby, now beginning her final college year at the Oklahoma City University finished 13th in the Fred Marx Invitational at Bayou Desland CC, Monroe in Louisiana.
Jessica (pictured) scored 76, 74 and 76 for a total of 226. The winner, with a total of 214, was Julie Aime (Lamar).
Jessica has been a prolific winner over the past two or three years in US college golf. She will be all out to add to that total before the end of her final season over there.
