PRETSWELL AND BOOTH TO THE FORE IN DINARD LADIES OPEN

Scots Pamela Pretswell and Carly Booth were tied 10th in a field of 88 players at the end of the first round of the Dinard Ladies Open golf tournament in Brittany, France today.
Curtis Cup selection Pretswell, playing as an amateur and Comrie's Booth both matched the par of 69 in calm and sunny conditions to be three shots behind the leader by two, France's Marion Ricordeau.
Carnoustie's Katy McNicoll had a 71 to be joint 22nd, Heather MacRae (Gleneagles) a 72 for joint 30th place while Glasgow's Gemma Webster had a 74 for a share of 51st position.
Interesting to see that the 17-year-old British women's amateur champion, Lauren Taylor (Woburn), who was ignored by the Curtis Cup selectors after reporting injured at the recent selection trial at Nairn, played in France today, having also played in last weekend's French Under-21 girls championship.
So much for those who were of the opinion that she would not be fit to play again before June. She hurt her neck in February, an injury which undoubtedly cost her a place in the GB and I team to play the Americans at Nairn from June 8-10.
The event is on the Ladies European Tour's Access Series development circuit
