HENDERSON OUTSHONE BY ODU TEAM-MATES McGEE AND WILDE

North Berwick's Neil Henderson, a final-year student at Old Dominion University, Norfolk in Virginia, finished joint 28th in a field of 72 at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate golf tournament over the Pinehurst No 6 course, North Carolina.
Henderson had rounds of 73, 76 and 74 for a 10-over-par total of 223 over a 6,819yd course with a par of 71. He finished 13 shots behind the six-stroke winner, Michael Kania (Villanova) who had rounds of 68, 68 and 73 for three-under 210.

McGee, from Bangor, near Belfast, tied for second place on 216 with rounds of 70-70-76 while Wilde, from Berkshire, finished joint fourth on 217 with rounds of 75, 67 and 675 for 217. Wilde's 67 was the lowest of the tournament.
Old Dominion (871) won the team event from Eastern Kentucky (875) and Penn Stage (876) in a field of 12 teams.

RHYS ENOCH JOINT 2ND IN 'GENERAL HACKLER'

Rhys Enoch (East Tennessee State) from Cornwall finished joint second in the General Hackler Championship which ended today at DeBordieu Club, Georgetown in South Carolina.
Enoch shot 76-76-66 (the lowest round of the tournament) for a two-over-par total of 215 over the 7,189yd course which has a taxing and testing par of 71.
He finished level with Ryan Eibner (East Carolina) (72-73-70), three shots behind the winner Sean Dale (North Florida) who scored 69-70-73 for one-under-par 212.
Irishman Kevin Phelan (North Florida) from Waterford, Ireland finished T16 on 221 with 77-72-72.
Walker Cup Welshman Rhys Pugh and another East Tennessee State student, Tom Heggarty from Cheshire, finished T18 and T45 respectively.
Pugh put together rounds of 77-74-71 for 222 while Heggarty's scores were 77-78-74 for 229.
Garrick Porteous (Tennessee) from Morpeth in the NE of England came T49 on 230 with scores of 76-76-78.
Scott Gibson (East Tennessee State) from Dumfries finished T63 on 236 with scores of 81-80-75.
And yet another of East Tennessee State's British students, sophomore Danny Keddie from Lincoln finished 82nd of 84 with rounds of 82-85-87 for 254.
North Florida (872) won the team honours from East Carolina (875) and Arkansas (878) with East Tennessee State (900) finishing eighth in a field of 15 teams.
