STIRLING OVERPOWER ABERDEEN IN STUDENTS' LOSSIE FINAL

By COLIN FARQUHARSON
Stirling University overpowered Aberdeen University 12 ½-2 ½ in today's final of the Scottish universities men's team championship over the Moray Golf Club Old Course at Lossiemouth links.
It was Stirling's eighth title in the last 11 years and the outcome was never in doubt after they beat defending champions St Andrews in yesterday's (Thu) semi-finals and then took a 4 1/2           - ½ lead over Aberdeen at the end of the morning foursomes.
An 8-2 capture of the singles after lunch underlined Stirling's supremacy.
Stirling Univeristy coach, and former European Tour winner, Dean Robertson said "It was a great performance by all concerned. We have tried to strengthen the competitive ethos of the players this year, preparing them for a summer of top-level amateur golf. These victories, on a pair of stunning Moray golf courses, were hard earned and well deserved."
