RACHEL CONNOR WINS IN FLORIDA

Former England amateur international Rachel Connor, son of the Scots-born Manchester Golf Club professional Brian Connor, has won the latest Suncoast Series women's pro tour event at Mission Inn Resort's El Campeon course near Orlando, Florida.

Rachel, pictured, led with a one-under-par 72 in the first round and with the scores rising all round on the second day, presumably due to bad weather, her second-round 76 was good enough to hold any potential challengers at bay.
A total of 148, two over-par, saw her win the top $1,700 prize by two shots.
