GOTHENBURG LADIES MASTERS MAKES
ITS DEBUT NEXT YEAR

The Ladies European Tour has announced that a new European golf tournament will take place in Gothenburg for the first time in 10 years. Lycke Golf Club will host the Göteborg Masters from September 18-21, 2008.
Lycke Golf course, which opened in 2005, is situated near Marstrand, north of Gothenburg. The course was designed by Johan Henriksson and the golf pro is Helen Alfredsson, the 2007 European Solheim Cup Captain.
“Lycke Golf Course is a perfect course and I’m delighted to highlight Gothenburg as an excellent place to set up golf events,” said Fredrik Nilsmark, managing director of the Scandinavian Masters.
“The LET has entered into a two-year contract with the golf course and the Swedish Golf Federation. The goal is to have one women’s golf tournament in Gothenburg and we therefore hope to have support from players, the market and the golfing public. The prize fund will be €250,000."
