SALLY QUALIFIES IN JOINT EIGHTH

Sally Watson from South Queensferry had rounds of 72 and 73 for a one-over-par aggregate of 145 to figure joint eighth among the 64 qualifiers for the match-play stages of the United States girls' golf championship at Carmel Country Club, Charlotte in North Carolina (on Tuesday).
Mini Harigate from Monterey California was the leading qualifier with scores of 70 and eight-under-par 64 for 138, two shots ahead of the field.
Miss Watson now plays Kimberley Johnson from San Diego, California, who totalled 151 in the qualifying rounds, in the first round of the match-play.
