A Douglas Park Junior Development team. sponsored by John Watson Printers, were the overall winners of the Douglas Park Pro-am.
Fiona Rattray (13), Alex Mennie (15) and Adam Sidiki (16), who unfortunately missed the photocall, teamed up with Carluke pro Craig Ronald to take the top team prize.  

Adam had played in the morning at Milngavie and made his tee time with minutes to spare! Their winning team score was 14 under par (2 scores to count).

Cawder’s Chris Kelly won the £1,028 first prize with a one under par 67. Congratulations go to Douglas Park pros Robert Irvine (2nd best performance at the par 3 holes) and Jordon Gallagher who had  the most pars or better on the day . They also both had 72′s on the day.
 

                                          

AILSA AND HEATHER MATCH PAR IN TARTAN TOUR EVENT AT CARDRONA

Ailsa Bain (Cardrona), pictured above, and Heather MacRae (Gleneagles), right, are lying joint 24th in a field of 86 - 83 of them men - at the halfway stage of the Cardrona Hotel 36-hole Challenge at the Peebles course.

They both matched the par of 72 over the Dave Thomas-designed course.
Ailsa's effort was all
the more creditable in that she had two double bogey 6s on her card!

Katie Thomson KOs men in Shotts
Young Pros' qualifierFormer Aberdeenshire women’s amateur county champion Katie Thomson, now a qualified PGA professional on Paul Girvan’s staff at Kings Links Golf Centre, Aberdeen has beaten a good few males to earn a place in the Shotts Golf Club’s Young Professionals’ pro-am on Sunday, August 15.
In today’s qualifier at Shotts, Katie claimed the last of the 30 places up for grabs with a round of nine-over-par 79. In all seven players in the field of 45 returned 79. There was room for only three of them to go forward to the tournament proper and, in a card play-off, Katie, pictured by Cal Carson Golf Agency,  gained the last place.
The other girl in the field, Georgina Shaw (Turnberry Hotel), missed out with an 85.
Girls play off a 10 per cent shorter course in Scottish PGA events.
Leading qualifier with a one-over-par 71 was Malcolm Murray (Bearsden).
