ILGU 2017/2018 Performance Panels Announced



The High Performance, Funded Performance and Horizon Performance programmes have been announced for the 2017/2018 season. Please see panels and programme overviews below

Aim
To produce World Class players who consistently achieve Podium finishes at International events

Objectives
· To create a process based environment and support players to focus on the controllable as they as they strive to achieve excellence
· To supply players with a world class coaching system that consists of in depth performance analysis and appropriate service provision, delivered by world class coaches
· To design training plans that meet the individual needs of the player and complimentary competition schedules which offer world-wide playing opportunities in appropriate WAGR events

Aim
To encourage players to compete on the international stage and represent Ireland at international team events, while also pursuing personal goals.

Objectives
· To empower players to become self-sufficient in the design and execution of their personal performance (training and competition) plan
· To provide financial assistance that supports players participation in international amateur events
· To support players as they strive to balance competing at international level with commitments outside of the sport, such as careers and education.

Aim
To offer a holistic approach to player development and achieve notable performances at appropriate international events, whilst preparing players to join the Elite Performance Programme in years to come.
 
Objectives
· To provide young players, and their personal coaches, with access to expert holistic support from the ILGU Coaching Team, in terms of all aspects of the game
· To support young players, and their parents, in terms of psychology and lifestyle planning to equip them to negotiate the journey towards high performance
· To create a safe environment where young athletes are free to play golf and challenged to learn in order to enhance their skill-set
