AMANDA LINNER BEATS ANNABELL FULLER IN
 
PLAY-OFF FOR ANNIKA INVITATIONAL TITLE

Amanda Linner, the Swede who won the French Under-21 girls championship in Paris in April, scored another notable victory today (Thursday).
She beat Annabell Fuller (Roehampton) at the third extra hole of a sudden death play-off in the prestigious Annika Invitational Europe 54-hole tournament at Halmstad Golf Club, Sweden.
They had tied on three-under 213, Amanda (pictured right) with three scores of 71, Annabell with rounds of 75, 69 and 69.
Fuller's final round had seven birdies, including the 18th to get her into a play-off. Linner also finished strongly with birdies at the 14th, 17th and 18th.
In a Swedish-dominated finish, Julia Engstrom, who last year, at the age of 15, became the youngest ever winner of the British women's open amateur title at Dundonald Links, tied for third place on 214 with compatriot Frida Kinhult (71-73-70). Engstrom had rounds of 75, 71 and 68.
In the play-off, Linner scored par-birdie-birdie, Fuller par-birdie-par.
Annabell's sister,Sammy, finished T33 with scores of 78, 74 and 72 for 224.
Shannon McWilliam from Aboyne had a disappointing tournament, finishing T54 in a field of 78. She scored 75, 78 and 77 for 230.
