Nicola Robertson
GOOD START BY NICOLA ROBERTSON

Nicola Robertson (King University), a third-year student from Dunblane and a member at Stirling Golf Club, has made a good start to the Conference Carolina's Championship at Cutter Creek GC, Snow Hill in North Carolina.

Nicola birdied the second, sixth and 13th in matching the par of 71, one shot behind the leader, Kaitlyn Gibbon (Belmont Abbey).

Another King student, Samantha Taylor from Newcastle, shot a 76 for T7 position in a field of 53 players. King and Mount Olive are tied for first place in the team event.

Jessica Carty
DENVER TRIO IN THE NEBRASKA MIX

Denver University's three British students, Jessica Carty from Holywood, Belfast, Sophie Newlove from Nottingham, and Lauren Whyte from St Andrews, were in the mix in a field of 45 player at the end of the first day of the Summit League Women's Championship at Arbor Links, Nebraska.

Over a par-72 course of 6,142yd, Carty has a 72 to be in second place, three behind leader Megan Mingo (South Dakota State). Sophie Newlove is in third place with a 74 and Lauren Whyte is T4 with a 75.

Even so, Denver (296) lead the team event by only one shot from South Dakota State.
