USA COLLEGE GOLF UPDATES

Samantha and Nicola finish in top 12 in King Invitational

Nicola Robertson from Dunblane, a student at King University, Bristol in Tennessee, finished 12th in a field of 37 players at her college's invitational women's tournament this week.
Over a par 71 course of 5,852yd at Bristol Country Club, Nicola shot rounds of 80 and 77 for a total of 157, 14 shots behind the winner by four, Elizabeth England (Carson-Newman) who had scores of 75 and 68 for 143.
Another King student, Samantha Taylor from Newcastle, finished ahead of Nicola Robertson in eighth place with scores of 80 and 73 for 153.
Carson-Newman University (608) also won the team title ahead of King (611) in a field of seven teams.

Rachael Walker's top 10 finish in Colorado

Rachael Walker from Dumfries, a final-year student at Old Dominion Univesity, finish a creditable tied eighth in a field of 90 players at this week's GolfWeek Conference Challenge at Red Sky Golf Club's Fazio course at Wolcott, Colorado.
Rachael had ever improving scores of 73, 72 and 71 for a level par total of 216 over a par-72 course of 6,261yd. She finished nine strokes behind the winner by three, Malene Krolboll Hansen (Coastal Carolina) who had scores of 70, 71 and 66 for nine-under 207.
Denver student Jessica Carty from Rory McIlroy's home town of Holywood near Belfast, finished T19 with 77-70-73 for 220.
St Andrews' Lauren Whyte, who transferred from Baylor to Denver, tied for 26th place on 222 with scores of 74, 73 and 75.
