European women's amateur individual championship

Jess Meek leads the Scots in European 

championship in Sweden

Jess Meek (Carnoustie Ladies) was the leading Scottish player with a one-under-par 71 in the first round of the European women's individual amateur championship at Hooks Golf Club, Sweden.
Meek is tied 20th, seven strokes behind the leader, Diane Baillieux (Belgium), whose eight-under 64 gives her a shot advantage over Curtis Cup player Bronte Law from Bramhall.
Chloe Goadby (St Regulus) is the second placed Scot in joint 33rd position with a par round of 72.
Heather Munro (Monifieth), Rachael Taylor (Am Reichswald) and Shannon McWilliam (Aboyne) are tied for 71st place with 74s.
The Scottish backmarker is Clara Young (North Berwick) with a 79 for a share of 133rd place.
