Sally the pride of our alley as six-birdie round 

pushes her up to tied 12th Down Under

Edinburgh-born but now Fife-based Sally Watson moved up to a share of 12th place in the Women's Victorian Open with a six-birdie third round of two-under-par 71 over the Beach Course at 13th Beach Golf Links today (Sat).

Watson, who had earlier rounds of 75 and 72, maintained the day-to-day improvement, with birdies at the first, short third, long fifth, sixth, short 13th and long 14th in halves of 34 and 37.
The Scot did, however, had four bogeys as she attacked the pins - at the eighth, ninth, 10th and par-5 18th.
Sally, the only one of six Scots to make the halfway cut, is eight shots behind long-time leader, England's Georgia Hall from Dorset.
Hall has scored 69, 70 and 71 for nine-under 210 and is two shots clear of former British girls champion Marianne Skarpnord (Norway) who has scored 73, 70 and 69.
The leading English players are the two Johnsons, Trish and Felicity, tied for eighth place on 217. Trish has scored 76, 71 and 70, Felicity 74, 71 and 72.
Falkirk-based American Beth Allen shot a 69 for 220 and a share of 20th place. 
Last year's St Rule Trophy winner at St Andrews, Indian teenager Aditi Ashok, making her pro debut, had a 71 for 222 and joint 30th place.
There was a second cut, to the leading 30 and ties on 222 and better, after the third round.
That removed Eleanor Givens (223), Becky Brewerton (224), Alex Peters (224), Laura Davies (224) and Annabel Dimmock (226)
