Hayley Davis loses at 19th - Baylor go down 

3-2 to Anne Walker's Stanford in NCAA  Final

 BRADENTON, Florida -  Baylor University women's golf team, which included Hayley Davis from Dorset and Lauren Whyte from St Andrews,  fell on the first play-off hole in the NCAA Division I national championship match against Stanford on Wednesday at The Concession Golf Club.
Stanford University from California - Tiger Woods' alma mater and where Scot Anne Walker is the women's head coach with Kathryn Imrie from Monifieth an assistant  - won a thrilling contest 3-2. 
The Bears got wins from Dylan Kim (3 and 1) and Giovana Maymon 4 and 3), but Hayley Davis's putt on her 19th hole just missed, ending Baylor's chance at a national championship.
Davis was two up with two holes remaining in regulation ;play and had an eight-foot putt on the 17th green that would've clinched the national title, but Stanford's Mariah Stackhouse evened the match with wins on No. 17 and No. 18, and then Stackhouse won by making par on the first play-off hole, No. 10. 
 “My heart is hurting right now for Hayley,” Baylor coach Jay Goble said. “She has been the heart and soul of our team and she has single-handedly elevated our team to this position. My heart is really hurting for her right now."
It was Hayley Davis's last tournament on the US women's college circuit after four years at Baylor University, Texas
It was a dramatic reversal from Baylor's semi-final match against Duke, where the Bears' Lauren Whyte clinched the match over the defending national champions on her sixth play-off hole.
Maymon won her match against Quirine Eijkenboom from Germany  4 and 3, and Dylan Kim claimed a 3 and 1 victory over Lauren Kim to get the Bears within one point of the title.
 Laura Lonardi trailed most of the day before she fought back to all-square by winning the 14th hole, but she was eventually defeated by Casey Danielson, who won by two holes.
Freshman Whyte, hero of Baylor's semi-final win, was defeated 4 and 3 by Shannon Aubert from France.
The second-place finish was by far the best in Baylor's women's golf program history. It was only their third qualification to play in the NCAA Championship. Their previous highest finish was a tie for 16th in 2012 best finish was a tie for 16th in 2012, head coach Jay Goble's first year at the helm.
