Midlothian championship top seed
In wintry conditions Karen Marshall, playing over her home course, had a splendid second round of 69 - nine strokes better than her first round and six under the CSS - to be the No 1 qualifier for the match-play stages of the Midlothian women's county championship at Baberton Golf Club.
Karen, pictured, who won the title as long ago as 1992, was more recently county champion in 2011
Karen's aggregate of 147 saw her finish three shots ahead of both Alison McBride (Harburn) who had a pair of 75s and Kate McIntosh (Broomieknowe) 74-76.
Alison earned the No 2 seed status with the better second round.
Broomieknowe's Hannah Scott, county champion for the past two years, qualified in sixth place with rounds of 78 and 80 for 158.
She is in the opposite half of the draw from Karen Marshall.
