HANNAH SUH WINS ARIZONA SILVER BELLE

FROM THE GOLF WEEK WEBSITE
Hannah Suh of San Jose, California won the Joanne Winter Arizona Silver Belle on December 30, finishing the 54-hole event at 6-under 210 at the ASU Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Arizona
Suh shot a final-round 67 (-5) to move from 15th to first, by a single stroke, in the final day of the tournament. The event is open to female amateurs between the ages of 13 and 23.
Suh is a freshman at the University of California, who opened her first season by finishing T-2 with teammate Jacqueline Williams at the Washington State Cougar Cup. The Golden Bears won the team title.
“We’re really encouraged by Hannah’s play at the ASU Karsten Golf Course,” California head coach Nancy McDaniel said.
“We travel to ASU to play in their event in April, and it really gives Hannah and our team a good boost going into the spring.”
Simin Feng, a junior golfer based in Orlando, Florida, who is headed to Vanderbilt University next August, finished tied for second with fellow junior Amy Lee of Brea, Calif. Both players finished the tournament at 5-under 211.
Alexandra Kaui, an Oklahoma University signee from Las Vegas, finished at 3-under 213 and tied for fourth with Krystal Quihuis of Tucson, Arizona.

TEMPE, Arizona - Hannah Suh, of San Jose, Calif., shot a 5-under 67 on Sunday, birdieing the final hole  to win the 42nd annual Joanne Winter Arizona Silver Belle Championship presented by the A B Farrington Foundation by one stroke.
Suh, 18, a freshman at the University of California, finished the prestigious 54-hole tournament at 6-under 210, one shot ahead Simin Feng, 17, of Orlando, Florida and Amy Lee, 15, of Brea, California. Feng birdied the 18th to finish the three-day event with a 3-under 69.
"Today I just had a good feeling, I birdied the first three holes," Suh said. "I wasn't nervous, I was just very confident out there and I just played my game."
After the key start, Suh had three more birdies on the back nine to overtake the field of qualified female golfers ages 13 to 23 that included a number of top-ranked junior golfers.
"It was just a very consistent round today," Suh said. "It's a different experience because when you are in college it's a different feeling. When coaches are recruiting you, you are so nervous, it's a different environment. This was a little bit more relaxing."
Krystal Quihuis, 16, of Tucson, shot an even-par 72 on Sunday to finish at 3-under for the tournament, along with Alexandra Kaui, 17, of Las Vegas.
"I just tried to stay within my own game and not go into anyone else's game because then you just fall apart," said Quihuis, a junior at Salpointe Catholic who won the Arizona Division II high school golf title last autumn.
"It got a little chilly, messed me up a little, but I got through it."
Temperatures reached the low 50s on Sunday with winds gusting in front of a storm system.
Robynn Ree, 15, of Redondo Beach, California, shot a 1-under 71 on Sunday to finish the tournament at 2-under, good for sixth place overall.
The 13-14 age group champion was Angel Yin, who finished at 1-under-par for the tournament. The eighth-grader shared the overall title a year ago at the Silver Belle.
Lee won the 15-16 age group and Feng won the 17-18 age group.
The 19-23 age group leader was Kristina Merkle, 21, a University of Tulsa golfer who is from Honolulu, Hawaii. Merkle finished the weekend at even-par 216.

ANDY MURRAY COACH'S DAUGHTER ISABELLE LENDL WINS DIXIE GOLF

By COLIN FARQUHARSON
Colin@scottishgolfview.com
Isabelle Lendl, 21-year-old daughter of Andy Murray's coach Ivan Lendl, today scored the biggest win of her amateur GOLF career.
A final-year student at the University of Florida - the Gators - she shot a final round of five-under-par 66 to come from behind and win the prestigious Dixie women's amateur championship over 72 holes at Heron Bay Golf Club, Coral Springs in Florida.
Isabelle (pictured) has won three times on the US women's college golf circuit, including back-to-back wins in the first half of the current 2012-2013 college season but nothing to match this performance.
Starting the final round of the four-round event five shots behind the long-time leader, Carly Ray Goldstein, Lendl, the younger of former World tennis No 1 Ivan, swept past her to win by four strokes with a six-under-par total of 278. Her earlier rounds were 74, 70 and 68.
Goldstein, only 17, scored 72, 67, 68 and 75 for 282, tieing for second place with Yueer Cindy Feng (71-73-70-68).
Isabelle Lendl was a member of the US Junior Ryder Cup team in 2006. She is No 249 in the Women's World Amateur Rankings but she will come tumbling down from that mark in the next revision.
The Lendl family home is at Goshen, Connecticut.
