JENNA BIRCH FINISHES JOINT RUNNER-UP AT SAVANNAH STATE FALL INVITATIONAL

So Jenna Birch from Fleetwood, Lancashire, a junior year student at Armstrong Athletic University, did not win the Savannah State University Fall Invitational in Georgia at the weekend.
Turns out that the Savannah State website - for some unknown reason - did not include the scores from the Bethune-Cookman College players, either in the team or the individual first-round scores which we displayed.
So Jenna did not lead by five strokes after the first round. in reality, she was lying second, two shots behind Bethune Cookman's Patriza Trevisan (70).
Patriza went on to win the individual honours in this 36-hole event, adding a 71 on Sunday for a final total of 141.
She won by 11 shots from joint runners-up Jenna Birch (72-80) and Kiley Mettler (77-75), both Atlantic Armstrong students.
Another Atlantic Armstrong student, Kerstin Sammarco finished fourth on 157 (77-80).
Bethune Cookman (610) won the team title by 11 shots from Armstrong Atlantic with Hampton University (675) third and hosts Savannah State last of four with 777.

JENNA BIRCH'S E-MAIL REPORT
My second day was not a good day It was the highest round (80) I have shot all season and it was disappointing to finish the Fall like that.
I just was not getting the luck, on the difficult holes where I was approaching the greens over water. My drives always seemed to end up in divot marks. Which is a disadvantage playing the golf course the same time as the boys who hit wedges.
So I just had to try my best but always walked off the hole with bogey or worse. And then I just could not keep it going for the last five holes. I bogeyed four of them, which was something that should not have happened.
However, I learned a lot from the tournament and now have three months until the next tournament. So plenty to work on over the winter. The goal is just to make it to Nationals like last year and I have plenty of time to prepare for that.
