LGU GIVE GREEN LIGHT FOR RENAMING OF CARNOUSTIE 11TH HOLE AT 12.45 ON FRIDAY
The Ladies Golf Union has given its permission to the Carnoustie Links Championship committee for a short ceremony to be held on Friday at the 11th hole of the championship course.
The purpose of the ceremony is to officialy rename the 11th hole in honour of John Philp, who is retiring as Course Manager. The ceremony itself should take no more than 10 minutes and will be held at approximately 12.45.
The British women's open amateur championship will have reached the match-play stages by lunchtime on Friday but the ceremony will not start until all the ties have played through.
If necessary, the ceremony will be delayed to ensure that there is no delay to the match-play.
