AI MIYAZATAO SCORES EIGHTH WIN ON LPGA TOUR

FROM THE LPGA TOUR WEBSITE
After a two-week break on the LPGA Tour, several players entered this past week with a few improvements to their game. Rolex Rankings No. 8 Ai Miyazato took this opportunity to work on her putting game, which paid off immensely as it helped her gain an impressive four-stroke lead to finish the LPGA LOTTE Championship on Hawaii.
Miyazato worked her way up the leaderboard in the second round of play at the Ko Olina Golf Club and finished on top along with Azahara Munoz at 8-under par.
She started the final round with a three-shot lead over Cristie Kerr and and Munoz and led by four-strokes with a birdie on the 17th hole. Miyazato finished the round with an easy tap-in for par.
The Okinawa, Japan native is an eight-time LPGA Tour winner and has recorded at least one victory in the past five seasons. Her last victory was at the 2011 Evian Masters Presented by Societe Generale.  This is her 5th top-10 finish in six events.
There were many new faces on the leaderboard this week including Rolex Rankings No. 40 Azahara Munoz (a recent past winner of the Ladies Btritish Open amateur championship at Harlech) and No. 57 Meena Lee.
Munoz was the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year in 2010 after recording three top-10 finishes including a season-best tie for fourth at the Bell Micro LPGA Classic.
She has since posted four more top-10s and has consistently stayed in the top-25 this season.
Lee is a two-time LPGA Tour winner. She became one of 10 Rolex First-Time winners in 2005 with a first place finish at the BMO Financial Group Canadian Women's Open. That same season, she finished second in the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year race to Paula Creamer.
