HEATHER BLOOMS IN SOUTH BUCKS FOR A SHARE OF THIRD PLACE
Former British women's amateur stroke-play champion Heather MacRae (Gleneagles Hotel) shot a level par 70 to be joint third at the end of the first round of the LETAS Ladies Open 54-hole tournament at Hazlemere GC, South Buckinghamshire today. Heather, pictured, was five shots off the hot pace set by former British girls champion Henrietta Zuel whose five-under 65 gave her a three-shot overnight lead from South African, on her own in second place with a 68. Pamela Feggans from Patna, Ayrshire and Carnoustie's Katy McNicoll had 71 apiece for a share of ninth place while Glasgow's Gemma Webster was joint 32nd with a 75 and Clare Queen joint 38th in a field of 83 with a 76.
