ENGLAND TRIO REACH LAST 16 OF BRITISH WOMEN'S AMATEUR

England provides three of the 16 players who have reached tomorrow morning's last 16 - Kelly Tidy (Royal Birkdale) who beat Lydia (Ko), the 14-year-old New Zealander who is ranked No 1 in the Women's World Amateur Golf Rankings, Charlotte Wild (Mere) and 16-year-old Lauren Taylor (Woburn), pictured below, who conquered Curtis Cup player and Irish champion Danielle McVeigh (Royal Co Down Ladies) and then KOd the World No 2, Cecilia Cho from New Zealand

Wales (Amy Boulden) and Stephanie Meadow (Royal Portrush), who KOd the No 1 seed and Spanish champion, Camilla Hedberg.
Scotland has nobody in the last 16. Their six match-play qualifiers came down to only two after the morning round of matchplay, leaving Pamela Pretswell, who had beaten the No 3 seed, Nathalie Mansson (Sweden), and leading Scottish qualifier Sally Watson to carry the Saltire in the round of the last 15.
Pamela bowed out, beaten 3 and 1 by Spain's Marta Silva. So too did Sally Watson who was four down at the turn to French teenager Perrine Delacour, winner of the British girls title at West Lancs two years ago.
