Kelsey beats Louise to win Scottish title at Craigielaw

Kelsey MacDonald, 19-year-old Stirling University student and Nairn Dunbar Golf Club member, is the new Scottish wmen's amateur (closed) champion.
On a gloriously warm and sunny morning for the scheduled 18-hole final over the Craigielaw Links, Kelsey beat Louise Kenney (Pitreavie), 27 year nursery school teacher, by 5 and 3.
It was the second year in a row that Louise had lost in the final. Last year she went down by 4 and 3 to Megan Briggs (Kilmacolm) in the final at Southerness.
Kelsey was approximately level par for the holes played.
Kelsey, the first reserve for the Curtis Cup, has been the Scottish Under-21 champion for the past two years.
The last player to hold both the Scottish women's and the Under-21 titles is believed to be Catriona (Lambert) Matthew.
