FOUR SCOTS QUALIFY IN ENGLISH WOMEN'S
MID-AMATEUR OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP


Four Scots qualified for the match-play stages of the English women's mid-amateur open golf championship after bad weather caused the cancellation of the second qualifying round at Sherwood Forest Golf Club today.
Kylie Walker (Buchanan Castle), third of the 32 qualifiers with a two-over-par round of 74, will play Anglo-Scot Edwina Lowrey-Gold (Eaton, Norwich). Edwina had an 83 and was 30th qualifier.
Claire MacDonald (Gullane) had a 78 and qualified in 18th position. She plays Corisande Lee (West Lancashire), the 15th qualifier.
Claire Hargan (Mortonhall) squeezed into the match-play stages as the 31st qualifier with an 83. She plays the No 2 seed, Janet Collingham (Sherwood Forest) who had a par 72.
Emma Sheffield (Newark) was the leading qualifier with a five-under-par 67.
