EUROPEAN WOMEN'S CSHIP NEWS

FOUR SCOTS OVER THE PROJECTED CUT FIGURE
AT THE EUROPEAN WOMEN'S INDIVIDUAL CHSHIP

It looks as if four of the six Scots will miss the cut - as predicted - at the end of the third round of the European women's individual amateur championship over the Hamburg Falkenstein course in Germany later today.
The projection is that only players with 54-hole totals of 14-over-par 227 and better will qualify for the last round.
Heather MacRae (Dunblane New) has finished on 16-over 229 with scores of 79, 75 and 75.
Jenna Wilson (Strathaven) has finished on 20-over-par 233 with scores of 73, 82 and 78. Jenna had a triple bogey 8 at the 17th.
Kylie Walker (Buchanan Castle) has finished on 21-over-par 234 with scores of 82, 76 and 76.
Clare-Marie Carlton (Stirling University) has finished on 28-over-par 241 with scores of 78, 82 and 81.
Last week the Scots were castigated for their poor showing in the European MEN'S individual amateur championship in Italy. It has to be said that the Scottish women have done no better than their counterparts.
Krystle Caithness (St Regulus) and Gemma Webster (Hilton Park) are the exceptions. Barring unexpected late disasters, they are going to be playing in the final round. Good for them!
