FUTURES TOUR

VIKKI STUMBLES WITH A QUADRUPLE
BOGEY AT FUTURES TOUR EVENT

Just when Vikki Laing looked as if she was going to put a good score together on the United States Futures Tour, she stumbled to a quadruple bogey at the second last hole today.
Competing in the Betty Puskar Futures Classic at Morgantown, West Virginia, the 25-year-old former Curtis Cup player from Musselburgh, ran up a 7 at the par-3 17th and finished on two-over-par 74 in the first round.
Vikki birdied the seventh, 14th, 15th and 18th. She had bogeys at the second and eighth.
Early leaders were Sarah Lynn Johnston and In-Bee Park on 67.
Brenda McLarnon from Belfast had a 76.
