IRISH MEN'S OPEN AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP

GEORGE MURRAY TOP SCOT, FOUR OFF PACE

Former Scottish champion George Murray (Earlsferry Thistle), beaten in a play-off for the Lytham Trophy last weekend, is in contention again for a leading title on Sunday when he starts the third round of the AIB Irish men's open amateur stroke-play championship four shots off the pace.
George had rouds of 75 and 71 for two-over-par 146 in joint sixth position.
Finland's Antti Ahokas (71-71) and Ulster youths champion Jonathan Caldwell (Clandeboyne) 69-73) are sharing the lead at the halfway point.
Bryan Fotheringham (Forres) is in joint 10th place on 147 (74-73).
Paul O'Hara (Colville Park) made it through on 149 with 76 and 73. Jonathan King (Glasgow) is also on 149 with 71 and 78.
The last of the five Scottish qualifiers for the final 36 holes was Scott Jamieson (Cathkin Braes), winner of the Craigmillar Park Open and the Edward Trophy. He is on 150 with 74 and 76.
The cut fell after 151.
That left the following on the wrong side.
152 Scott Henry (Cardross) 76 76, Zack Gould (Wal) 75 77, John Gallagher (Swanston) 74 78.
154 Zack Zaltman (Craigielaw) 75 80.
156 Elliot Saltman (Craigielaw) 75 81.
157 Euan McIntosh (Newmachar) 76 81.
