Deeside Junior Open report, scores and pictures

Nicholas Black failed by the narrowest of margins to be the first winner of the trophy donated by his mother, Curtis Cup winning captain Elaine Farquharson-Black, junior convener at the club, as the leading scratch prize in the Deeside Junior Open at the Bieldside course today.
He tied with another Deeside junior member Ross Nicholson, both returnings 73s. Ross won the tie-breaking countback.
Jack Chalmers (Alford) finished third with a 74. 
 The Deeside Junior Open was also a qualifier for the Telegraph/BMW Junior Open at Quinta do Lago on the Algarve.
The Deeside Junior Open was sponsored by Quantum Claims, Scott Gilmour (opticians) and J Charles (Fish Merchants).

ALISON MUIRHEAD LEADS AT 

STRATHTYRUM WITH PAR 69

Alison Muirhead, the Emirates Ladies Open Amateur Champion, leads the field of 63 girls under the age of 23 after the first qualifying round of the St Andrews Ladies Junior Open tournament for players aged under 23.
Alison, a member of Dubai's Emirates Golf Club,  matched the par of 69 for the Strathtyrum Course, finishing three ahead Antonia Zacharovska (Slovakia) and four in front of Jessica Bailey (Kirby Muxloe).
Leading Scottish player is Fiona Rattray (Douglas Park), joint fourth on 75.
