 Kippie Lodge pair beaten in Round 1 

at Sunningdale Foursomes

The Kippie Lodge, Milltimber professional pairing of Keil Beveridge and Laura Murray (pictured below) lost by 4 and 2 to Richard Wallis (Canterbury) and Adam Wooton (Oxford Golf Centre) over the New Course today (Tuesday) in the first round of the Sunningdale Foursomes at the Ascot venue.

Ellon's Michele Thomson (Meldrum House) had better luck in partnership with Rebecca McGinley (unattached).
They beat Max Newman and Van Phillips 2 and 1, also over the New Course.
The Paul Lawrie Golf Centre pairing of David Law and Ross Kellett had a 5 and 4 win over Ricky Willison and Gary Bothwell over the New Course.
Sam Torrance, a member at Sunningdale, and his son Daniel (Merrist Wood) won by 2 and 1 in their Old Course encounter with Andrew Cooley and Warren Harmston.
The Torrances received one stroke.
Tartan Tour player Gareth Wright (West Linton) and Jason Levermore (Channels) had a good win by one hole over Paul and Ryan Wesselingh (Kedleston Park). 
Title holders Charlotte Austwick and Jack Clarke) cleared their first hurdle with a one-hole winning margin.

The entry fee was £180 a pair.

Charlotte Thomas just outside top 10 in California

Charlotte Thomas (Washington University), a candidate for a place in the GB and I Curtis Cup team to play the United States at Dun Laoghaire GC, nr Dublin in June, was in joint 13th place in a field of 68 at the end of the first day of the Bay Area Intercollegiate tournament at Meadow Golf Club, Fairfax, California.
Over a par-72 course of 6,112yd, Charlotte, pictured above, had a two-over-par 74 with a birdie at the short 11th and bogeys at the sixth, ninth and 14th.
Joint leaders are Erin Harper (Indiana) and Alexis Keating.

Eilidh and Daisy-May sharing 39th spot at Lady Eagle Invitational 

Eilidh Watson (Stetson) from Dollar and Daisy-May Kenny (West Florida) from Purley are T39 in a field of 60 at the Lady Eagle Invitational at Hattiesburg Country Club, Mississippi.
They both shot 80 in the first and 80 again in the second round fo 60.
Dolores Brown (McNeese State) from Royal Cinque Ports, Kent is on 152 (75-77) and Anglo-Scot Paige Kemp (Stetson) on 153 (75-78).
Two Barry University players lead - Tilda Larsson (73-73) on 146, a shot ahead of team-mate Maria Paolo Fiorio (73-74)
They are playing a par-72 course of 6,228yd.

Kimberley had an 88 in tough Texas conditions

Aboyne's Kimberley Beveridge (Tyler Junior College) shot an 88 to be T41 after one round of the Texona Chevy Dealers Intercollegiate at Tanglewood Resort, Pottsboro in Texas.

Tough scoring conditions for this one - Glory Jangthongsiri (West Texas A and M) leads with a 77.


Rachel Walker (Old Dominion) had rounds of 77 and 81 for 158 at the UNF Collegiate at Jacksonville Golf and Country Club, Florida.
Laura Gomez (James Madison) (70-72) and Sophia Schubert (Texas) (72-70) share lead on 142 over a par-72 course of 6,002yd.
