Dulcie from Southend leads the way
 FROM KENNESAW STATE UNIVERSITY WEBSITE
KISSIMMEE, Florida Sophomore Dulcie Sverdloff, pictured below,  from Southend  paced the Kennesaw State women's golf team as the Owls hold a 16-stroke lead and the top-four individual spots following the first round at the 2015 Atlantic Sun Conference Championship on a hot and humid Sunday (April 12) at the par-72, 6,146-yard Reunion Resort Watson Course.

"Today was a fun day," said head coach Rhyll Brinsmead. "I am exhausted. It is hot out here, but we played great one through five. Obviously being one-two-three-four on the leaderboard, I

not ask for anything more. I am super proud. We did not even get off to that good of a start honestly and I knew it would take us a few holes to settle in there and get our flow going and stay patient. "I talked to the team a little bit and told them this is a marathon and not a sprint, but they sprinted towards the finish line today and we played really well."
The Owls carded a one-under par 287 to open the conference championship, with Sverdloff leading all individuals after turning in the lone sub-par round on Sunday with a two-under par 70. The Southend-on-Sea, Essex native registered four birdies on the day and went one-under par with a birdie and eight pars on the back nine holes.

Senior Kaew Preamchuen and sophomore Laura Estefenn are two strokes off Sverdloff's lead and tied for second after posting an even-par 72 in their first round. After going three-over par in her first nine holes, Preamchuen rebounded to shoot three-under par on the back nine, including a stretch of four birdies in five holes. Estefenn was steady throughout the day, recording 16 pars and one birdie to start the tournament.

Sitting right behind the duo in a tie for fourth is senior Ines Lescudier, who posted a one-over par 73, while freshman Henriette Nielsen is tied for 10th after recording a three-over par 75 in her first A-Sun Championship appearance.

Florida Gulf Coast, for whom English student Georgia Price had a round of 80 for a share of 28th place, sits in second place with a 15-over par 303 in its opening round, while Jacksonville rounds out the top three with a 16-over par total of 304 on Sunday.

Dollar's Eilidh Watson (Stetson Uni) shot an 84 for 36th place in a field of 40 players

Second round action at the A-Sun Conference Championship continues tomorrow, Monday, April 13 with KSU's tee times beginning at 8:45 a.m. ET off of the No. 1 tee. Live scorig for the second round will be available HERE.

Leona Maguire slips to joint seventh, Lauren Whyte  stays in top 20 at Tempe, Arizona
FROM THE DUKE UNIVERSITY WEBSITE

By Jack Winters
with a few additional words by Colin Farquharson
TEMPE, Arizona – Through two rounds at the PING/ASU Invitational, the fourth-ranked Duke women’s golf team has been paced by freshman Leona Maguire from Ireland and junior Celine Boutier from France, who rank in the top 12 overall at the 6,223-yard, par 72 ASU Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Ariz.
After leading following Friday’s round with a six-under-par, 66, Maguire carded a two-over-par, 74, in Saturday’s action and is tied seventh overall with a 140.  Boutier is tied 12th after totaling rounds of 69 and 72 for a 141 ledger.
With a 36-hole total of 138 at six-under-par, Annie Park of Southern California and Monica Vaughn of Arizona State are tied for the individual lead.
As a team, Duke slipped from second to tied seventh overall with rounds of 286 and 293 for a 36-hole ledger of 579.  Arizona (564) jumped into the lead with a 12-under-par, 276, and leads by eight strokes over South Carolina (572).  Texas (574), Stanford (575), Southern California (576), Arizona State (577), Duke (579), Baylor (579), Alabama (582) and Arkansas (582) round out the top 10.
After rolling in seven birdies on day one, Maguire was held to only one Saturday as she carded a 74.  She opened her day with an even-par, 35, on the front nine with seven pars, one birdie on No. 6 and a bogey on No. 4

A native of Cavan, Ireland, Maguire played the back nine at 39 with seven pars and bogeys on No. 11 and No. 16.
The reigning PING/ASU Invitational individual champion, Boutier, the world's No 1 female amateur, will head into the final day of play just three shots off the individual lead with rounds of 69 and 72.  Boutier, who hails from Montrouge, France, turned in 16 pars on the afternoon, one bogey on No. 1 and a birdie on the 153-yard, par three 16th.  She hit 12 fairways, 13 greens and had 33 putts on the day.
With rounds of 74 and 72, sophomore Sandy Choi enters Sunday’s final round tied 31st with a two-over, 146.  Choi, who is from Seoul, South Korea, played her final 11 holes at two-under-par with birdies on the 14th and 16th holes, after opening the day at two-over through seven holes.  She hit 11 fairways, 12 greens and rolled 29 putts.
Both Gurbani Singh and Lisa Maguire each collected two birdies on Saturday on their way to posting rounds of 75 and 76, respectively.  The duo are tied 74th overall with a nine-over-par, 153.

Lauren Whyte from St Andrews, a freshman student at Baylor University, stayed within the top 20 with a 72 for one-under 143.
She leads the Baylor squad on the scoreboard which must give her a great deal of satisfaction, considering that for most of her freshman year she has not been given a game.
GB and I internationals Bronte Law (UCLA), Hayley Davis (Baylor) and Charlotte Thomas (Washington) are placing T31, T42 and T52 respectively in the field of 87 players.
Bronte has had scores of 75 and 71 for 146; Haylet 71 and 77 for 148 and Charlotte 74 and 75 for 149.

Innerleithen-born girl Aussie title runner-up two years in row

Celina Yuan
Celina Yuan after her win.

Scot Karis Davidson beaten in play-off for Australian girls championship
Sydney’s Celina Yuan survived final-round jitters, then a nail-biting playoff, to win the Australian Girls’ Amateur title in Adelaide today.
Yuan, 16, toppled Queenslander Karis Davidson, also 16, who was born at in the Tweed Valley town of Innerleithen, Scotland, with a birdie on the third extra hole to win her first national championship at Tea Tree Gully Golf Club, New South Wales.

Yuan and Davidson, pictured right by Cal Carson Golf Agency, had tied on 293 at the end of the regulation four rounds of stroke-play in which Yuan had rounds of 77 70 68 78 and Davidson 75 69 75 74
Agonisingly for Davidson it was the second consecutive year she’s finished runner-up in the event, falling to Victorian Kono Matsumoto by just one stroke last year.
Yuan began the final-day 36-hole marathon with a bogey, but then ploughed through the field with six birdies en route to the week’s best score of 68 to establish a four-shot buffer over Davidson by lunch.
But The Australian and Bankstown member frittered away her lead at regular intervals in her afternoon round of 78, a double-bogey on the sixth the biggest blemish.
Eventually, when Yuan bogeyed the 17th after Davidson birdied the 15th, the pair was level.
Davidson had to scramble an up-and-down on the last to force a playoff – and she duly responded.
In fact, she did twice more during extra time – including an incredible save on the second hole – but when her 4m birdie try on the third go around slid by, Yuan pounced.
The Sydneysider had knocked her approach in tight and when her birdie trickled in from inside 1m as light faded, the nearby New South Wales team rejoiced in her honour.
“I was a bit nervous (during the playoff),” Yuan admitted.
“It wasn’t my best round to get there and I thought I wouldn’t win.
“But as it went on, I thought I had a better chance and then it just happened.”
Yuan, who still has a year of junior eligibility remaining, said her maiden national title was “enormous”.
“It hasn’t really sunk in yet, I don’t think … I’m pretty happy.”
Yuan was 9th last year at Yering Meadows and sixth at Mount Lawley in 2013 after being 50th at Carbrook in 2012 and 39th in Newcastle in 2011.
Kiwi Brooke Hamilton was third today, three shots back from playoff contention at four over, while Malaysia’s Ashley Lau Jen Wen shared fourth with Queenslander Kirsty Hodgkins another shot back.
