FIFE TOP SEED SUSAN JACKSON THROUGH TO LAST 4

Top seed Susan Jackson (Ladybank) is still on the trail of winning her first Fife county championship.
Susan, pictured, won through to the last four at the Kittock Course, Fairmont St Andrews today when the match-play stages began.
In Sunday morning's first semi-final Susan will play Karin Sharp (Kirkcaldy).
The second semi-final will feature former Scottish champion Elaine Moffat (St Regulus) against Nicky Taylor (Dunnikier Park).
In this afternoon's quarter-finals Elaine beat Lorna Bennett (Ladybank) by one hole in a tight match.
Lorna had lost to Louise Kenney in the finals of 2011 and 2009 and before that to Fiona Hastie in the 2007 final.
Elaine Moffat lost to Louise Kenney in the 2010 final.
Louise was unable to play in the qualifying round of this year's championship.

LEONA MAGUIRE SPREADEAGLES IRISH UNDER-18 GIRLS' FIELD

GB and I Curtis Cup team selection Leona Maguire (Slieve Russell) leads by five strokes after 36 holes of the Irish Under-118 girls' open amateur stroke-play championship at Roganstown Golf and Country Club today.
Leona, pictured, had rounds of 72 and 69 for a two-round total of 141 - three under par.
The 17-year-old +5 player, who holds the British women's open amateur stroke-play championship, has a five-stroke advantage of France's Mathilda Cappeliez and is seven ahead of another French player in third place, Manon Molle.
Scotland has two players in the top 10. Ailsa Summers (Carnoustie Ladies) is in sixth position on 151 with scores of 81 and 70. Her second round was the second lowest score of the tournament.
Former Scottish girls champion Lesley Atkins (Gullane Ladies) is sharing 10th place on 154 with a pair of 77s.
Leona Maguire's twin, Lisa, the European women's individual amateur title-holder, was unable to play because of an ongoing wrist injury.

LEONA MAGUIRE SETS PACE IN IRISH U18 GIRLS, LISA WITHDRAWS

The Maguire twins had contrasting fortunes on the opening day of the Irish Under-18 girls' open amateur stroke-play championship at Roganstown Golf Club. Leona's par-matching 72 gave her the first-round lead while Lisa had to withdraw with an ongoing wrist injury.

PAMELA FEGGANS HAS TOP TEN FINISH IN SPAIN

Ayrshire's Pamela Feggans had a two-under-par 70 - one of the best scores of the final round - to finish joint 10th in the Spanish Banesto Tour event at La Penaza Golf Club, Zaragoza today (Saturday).
The Patna player has not had the best of luck since she turned pro but this should boost her confidence. She had improving rounds o f 74, 73 and 70 for a one-over-par total of 217, birdieing the fifth, 11th and 16th with only one bogey, at the fourth, in her closing round.
Feggans, pictured, finished five shots behind the winner, Marjet Van Der Graaf from the Netherlands who had scores of 71, 69 and 71 for five-under 211.
Carly Booth from Comrie, Perthshire, came into this event on a high, having scored her first pro win in France last weekend but only in her second round did she recapture that form. She had scores of 77, 69 and 74 for a total of 220 and a share of 20th place.
Carly had three birdies but a double bogey 6 at the fourth and three bogeys on the inward half.

VAN DER GRAAFF SEALS MAIDEN SOLO PRO VICTORY IN SPAIN

Marjet Van der Graaff of the Netherlands held her overnight lead to earn a one stroke victory at the Banesto Tour Zaragoza at Club de Golf la Peñaza.
The 29-year-old from Rotterdam shot a third round of 71 to end at five under par, one ahead of Spanish rookie Carlota Ciganda from Pamplona, who had a best-of-day 67 and was on the verge of forcing a play-off before finally Van der Graaff held her nerve.  
Belgium’s Laurence Herman finished a stroke further back in third, while Norway’s Lene Krog and Australian Tamara Johns tied for fourth on two under par.
Stephanie Kirchmayr of Germany finished alone in fifth place on one under, while three players shared seventh place: Sweden’s Sarah Wikstrom, Danielle McVeigh of Northern Ireland and Dutchwoman Chrisje de Vries.
Van der Graaff previously tasted Spanish success when she and compatriot Christel Boeljon won the European Nations Cup in Alicante as a team in 2009, but this was her first solo victory in five years on tour.
“The first win on my own!” said Van der Graaff. “I started playing great and had four birdies in five holes and one more at the 10th: I did all the work in those holes. I three putted 12 and my short game let me down; then more bogeys on 13, 15 and 17.
"I was minus five and then at the 17th leader board I saw Carlota with four under and knew had to make par. I played safe: 6 iron, wedge, just off the green pin high, and holed the two putts I needed to win.”
Ciganda, whose family came to watch the final round, had another piece of luggage to take home: her prize of a ham for being the best Spanish competitor. “This is what I love most in the world!” she exclaimed after being told the news.
Ciganda commented on her round: “I played much better today. It could have been lower but I’m very happy with five under without a bogey. I managed to score in the first round but lost the tournament yesterday with a 73. I hit it very close today: on the fifth hole, I putted for eagle and made birdie; on the sixth I hit a very good 8-iron stone dead; at the 11th, I hit to six feet; then at the 13th, a 52º from 80 metres, stone dead.
"On the 18th, I played aggressive, went for the flag and finished with another birdie. I’m driving the ball well but need to work more on my approach shots and putts.”  
Club de Golf la Peñaza received great praise from the players, despite of strong winds on the first day, which subsided later in the week.
The next LET Access Series event will be the Ljungbyhed Park PGA Ladies Open at Ljungbyhed Golf Club in Sweden from May 15-17.

Rachel wins Ayrshire Girls' Spring Medal

The first medal of the season for the County girls was played over Prestwick St. Nicholas on Sunday on a bright but cold windy afternoon.   The overall winner was Rachel Irvine from Largs who had a nett 75 playing off 11 handicap.   Hazel McGarvie, Troon Ladies had the best inward half to take 2nd place on 78.   The bronze winner was Emma Paterson from Loudoun with a nett 76 and 2nd was Louise Duncan, West Kilbride on 80.   The SSS is 72 and CSS on the day 75.

The Pre-handicap girls played 10 holes on a shortened course and their results were:-
